barefootyoga.me – Spring Upside Down Retreat (25th -31st May 2019)

Spring Upside Down Retreat 2019

barefootyoga.me Retreats for Heart n’ Soul ॐ
In our Retreats we are teaching basic and advanced techniques with up to 8 hours of daily practice including Acrobatics, Functional Movement, Yoga, Contact Improvisation & Bodywork. Together we are going to explore the offerings of a professional movement based mentoring customised to the practitioner’s individual level and needs. This journey of self-discovery will not only help you to deepen your practice but will also unfold an essential aspect of your most inner self.

About the Practice:
This retreat is offering you a wide range of playful elements, including important principals of Acrobatics (L-basing, Washing Machines, Whips, Pops & Flows), Functional Movement, Open Play, Martial Arts, Bodywork, Yin Yoga and much more. The heart of this week will be about cultivating trust, strength and flexibility, within ourselves and as a group.

Your Holliday Package:
Alongside the intensive practice (its up to you how many classes you’re joining) you will find many opportunities to spend your time outdoors. You have the chance to refresh yourself in one of the two pools, explore the surrounding nature, take an afternoon stroll to the beach or a quick ride into town, which could be Rovinj or Pula (two of the most beautiful towns in whole Croatia).

Our Goal:
Doesn’t matter if you are a pro, you have little or none experience in AcroYoga or Acrobatics. We will be teaching two levels simuntaniously to make sure that everyone is getting their dose of Acro. Beginner/Intermediate participants will learn a wholistic fundation in AcroYoga & Partner Acrobatics. Intermediate/Advanced participants will be focusing on L-basing Tempos (whips, pops & dynamic entries/exits, as well the art of hand2hand).

Daily routine:

Following an playful warmup in functional movement & yoga, you will learn how to build up the day with an important skill set in Acrobatics. In this time of the day each one of you will find their own level and achievements. The integration and focus on inversions, handstands and L-basing flows will be an important foundation to start with. In the afternoon we dedicate our time to the playful side of moving. There will be optional classes, contact improvisation and individual movement based coachings waiting for you. Take this time as an oppertunity to work on specific tricks and refine them with your barefootyoga teachers. After a full day of moving & exploring we will round the day up with a feasty dinner and a final connective bodywork practice or yin yoga.

Mito TheFlyingMonkey
Grown up in Germany, I now live a nomadic lifestyle learning and teaching movement, acrobatics, Yoga and bodywork. I love to play, discover and let go, to celebrate life, nature, community, music and food, to laugh and to monkey around. In my movement practice I seek to discover new options and pathways, raise kinesthetic awareness, improve coordination, mobility and stability, agility and ability, find elegance and efficiency, control and creative expression. I aim to lower the threshold of my sensitivity and work towards freedom, mobility and balance physically, mentally and emotionally. In my workshops I intend to facilitate a space where open and sincere experiencing of movement, the self and others can happen in a natural, intuitive and joyful way. Mito will be sharing his passion about quality movement, progressions and flows. He is a certified partneracrobatics teacher, full time AcroYogi as well as one of barefootyoga.me’s earliest members.
Andrés Covelli
The desire to move every part of my body, the passion to be anything I can imagine, the need to play in life; to stand on my hands and spin on my head, to bend backwards and forward, to roll over like a little kid, to fall over just to get up again. This is how I learnt to live my life. Lover of nature, collector of tattoos, believer of magic and the power of love…. This is what led me to yoga years ago. I wanted to keep the energy flowing and to challenge myself daily. The combination of strength, peace, balance and power that yoga offers, caught my attention immediately. Bhavanga, is a Sanskrit word for Constant Flow, it creates dynamic classes, experiences and moments of connection. Breathe, balance, connection, movement, love and have fun!
