The sport of partner acrobatics is an exciting practice which has been performed around the world for hundreds of years. The practice involves two or more people, with one person as the ‘base’, lifting, moving and supporting another person as a ‘flyer’.
Partner acrobatics is an empowering practice for people of all ages. From simple counter balances to high level acrobatics, this practice is grounding, requiring high levels of focus and cooperation. The poses/skills can be static or dynamic and can be practiced one-off, in a sequence, or as a whole show.
The different lineages and schools may focus on slightly different aspects of the practice. While AcroYoga.org combines elements of Yoga, Acrobatics and healing arts, other styles and teachers focus more on standing Acrobatics or on incorporating dance/performance aspects into their work.
