– African Vibes Retreat (23.-29. March 2019)

African Vibes Retreat 2019 Retreats for Heart n’ Soul ॐ
In our Retreats we are teaching basic and advanced techniques with up to 8 hours of daily practice including Acrobatics, Functional Movement, Yoga, Contact Improvisation & Bodywork. Together we are going to explore the offerings of a professional movement based mentoring customised to the practitioner’s individual level and needs. This journey of self-discovery will not only help you to deepen your practice but will also unfold an essential aspect of your most inner self.

About the Practice:
This retreat is offering you a wide range of playful elements, including important principals of Acrobatics (L-basing, Washing Machines, Whips, Pops & Flows), Functional Movement, Open Play, Contact Improvisation, Axis Syllabus, Martial Arts, Bodywork, Yin Yoga and much more. The heart of this week will be about cultivating trust, strength and flexibility, within ourselves and as a group.

Our Goal:
Doesn’t matter if you are a pro, you have little or none experience in AcroYoga or Acrobatics. We will be teaching two levels simuntaniously to make sure that everyone is getting their dose of Acro. Beginner/Intermediate participants will learn a wholistic fundation in AcroYoga & Partner Acrobatics. Intermediate/Advanced participants will be focusing on L-basing Tempos (whips, pops & dynamic entries/exits, as well the art of hand2hand).

Your Holliday Package:
Alongside the intensive practice there will be many opportunities to immerse yourself in nature and the outdoors in this magical location. There are multiple hammocks in the garden, a swimming pool, volleyball court, leafy trees to doze underneath, a yoga shala on the rooftop, and a beautiful fireplace, perfect for evening jams. The nearby area is famous for outdoor sports such as hiking & climbing and the nearby beach offers you a chance to indulge in a refreshing dip in the ocean.

Daily routine:
Following an playful warmup in functional movement & yoga, you will learn how to build up the day with an important skill set in Acrobatics. In this time of the day each one of you will find their own level and achievements. The integration and focus on inversions, handstands and L-basing flows will be an important foundation to start with. In the afternoon we dedicate our time to the playful side of moving. There will be individual movement based coachings waiting for you. Take this time as an oppertunity to work on specific tricks and refine them with your barefootyoga teachers. After a full day of moving & exploring we will round the day up with a feasty dinner and a final connective bodywork practice or yin yoga.

Millette Núñez
In 2011, Mimi was working as a Spanish teacher by day and as a yoga and Zumba® instructor by night. During this time, she was introduced to Acro and her life and body were turned upside down. While she was always passionate about teaching, she realized that her real inspiration came from learning and teaching movement. A year later, she quit her job as a school teacher to travel and share Acro with everyone on her path.
Mito TheFlyingMonkey
Grown up in Germany, I now live a nomadic lifestyle learning and teaching movement, acrobatics, Yoga and bodywork. I love to play, discover and let go, to celebrate life, nature, community, music and food, to laugh and to monkey around. In my movement practice I seek to discover new options and pathways, raise kinesthetic awareness, improve coordination, mobility and stability, agility and ability, find elegance and efficiency, control and creative expression. I aim to lower the threshold of my sensitivity and work towards freedom, mobility and balance physically, mentally and emotionally. In my workshops I intend to facilitate a space where open and sincere experiencing of movement, the self and others can happen in a natural, intuitive and joyful way. Mito will be sharing his passion about quality movement, progressions and flows. He is a certified partneracrobatics teacher, full time AcroYogi as well as one of’s earliest members.
The joy and love for movement has always been strong for Lara-Lyn who is now a teacher, Yoga guide, Thai massage therapist and Actress. Lara-Lyn owns and runs her own yoga studio in the heart of Windhoek, Namibia where she teaches fulltime when she is not traveling and teaching around Africa and Europe. “I love moving my body to tell a story, to express emotions, to connect with others and to create and release energy, and I especially love sharing this with others. When we move our bodies to the tune of our soul we heal ourselves, when we do this with others in acro or dance we dissolve the boundaries that separate us.”
