– AcroVenture Retreat (8.-14. September 2018)

AcroVenture Retreat 2018 Retreats for Heart n’ Soul ॐ
In our Retreats we are teaching basic and advanced techniques with 8 hours of daily practice including Acrobatics, Yoga, Contact Improvisation, Thai Massage & Meditation. Together we are going to explore the offerings of a professional movement based mentoring customised to the practitioner’s individual level and needs. This journey of self-discovery will not only help you to deepen your practice but will also unfold an essential aspect of your most inner self.

About the Practice:
This retreat is offering you a wide range of playful elements, including important principals of Acrobatics (L-basing, Partner-Acro, Dutch & Israeli Flows, Washing Machines), Monkey Business, Open Play, Contact Improv, Axis Syllabus and much more. The heart of this week will be about cultivating trust, strength and flexibility, within ourselves and as a community of dedicated movers.

Your Holliday Package:
Alongside the intensive practice (its up to you how many classes you’re going join) you will find many opportunities to spend your time outdoors. You have the chance to refresh yourself in one of the two pools, explore the surrounding nature, take an afternoon stroll to the beach or a quick ride into town, which could be Rovinj or Pula (two of the most beautiful towns in whole Croatia).

Daily routine:
Following a variety of the morning movement improvements, you will learn how to build up the day with an important skill set. In this time of the day each one of you will find their own level and achievements. The integration and focus on handstands, L-basing (Laying Acroabtics) and S-basing (Standing Acrobatics) will be an important aspects of our daily routine. In the afternoon we dedicate our time to the playful side of moving. Elements with lesser form like Contact Improvisation and Adagio (Dance Acrobatics) will be your main game untill we follow up with a feasty dinner and a final connective bodywork practice before we go to bed.

Gape is the owner of and spreads his love for movement and teamwork all over Austria and Europe. When Gape isn’t hosting one of his retreats, you will most definitely find him behind the lens of a camera, or somewhere on a tree, representing the local monkeys. His goal is to lead people back into a life filled with joy and lightness.
Anna Van Scharrel
Anna is going to co-teach this retreat with Gabriel. Anna has received her dance training at the Professional School for Ballet and Dance in Graz and is currently studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. She is an integral member of the community and because of her background she integrates a set of artistic qualities into our teaching. Anna will guide you through the retreat with her energetic, open-hearted and empathetic style. Anna is a dancer, musician, full-time Acrobat and one of’s favourite assistants.
Yaeli Margalit
Israeli born, Irish bred, and well-travelled vagabond, Yaeli is a mishmash of all things fun and playful. She is an experienced body mover, clinical massage therapist and professional acro monkey. Having spent her early twenties in the world of academia, she abandoned her medical lab coat and decided what she wanted most in this life was to move her body, give and receive massage and follow the sun. Currently living in Dublin, Yaeli teaches yoga and Contact Improvisation Dance.  Drawing from the principles and practices of Contact Improv Yaeli creates curious, fun and inviting ways of exploring partnered acrobatics. Ultimately her wish in life is to be a good friend and a good clown. 😉
Wotan von Lichtberg
Founder of the blossoming Heart Culture Festival, experienced musician on stage, and father of two beautiful childs, obviously loves what he do. Using sound, Wotan guides people at workshops, retreats single session’s and circle gatherings to truly connect with their souls and fellows. Helena C Kober
Helena has more than twenty years of experience in classical ballet, contemporary and modern dance. She has been training with teachers from Madrid, Hamburg, New York, LA and beond. Ever since she has been trying to understand why all dancers wanted to be a soloist, only to reach the top and find out that indeed it feels so solo… so lonely. Years went by and while performing she discovered a way to play and get high, first with group contemporary dance in Germany, then with lyrical jazz back in Spain and in the last few years introducing trust and finding her true passion in Austria with Acroyoga and Contact Impro Dance.
Aurora Bowkett
Aurora, a UK based travelling yoga teacher, found her passion for movement when she began her yoga journey in 2016. Inquisitive and dedicated, she seeks ways to balance the body in creatively sequenced yoga flows, focusing on stabilization within openness. She likes to infuse movements inspired by her backgrounds in dance & martial arts with the traditionally holistic approach of yoga to form a functional yet intuitive understanding of how the body works. Also a classically trained singer and musician, Aurora can also be heard singing random operatic arias – although not during class! - and likes to think her ability to talk for hours without taking a breath is down to her daily practice of pranayama.
