– AcroVenture Retreat (7.-13. September 2019)

AcroVenture Retreat 2019 Retreats for Heart n’ Soul ॐ
In our retreats we are teaching basic and advanced techniques with up to 8 hours of daily practice, including Acrobatics, Yoga, Contact Improvisation, Thai Massage & Meditation. Together we are going to explore the offerings of a professional movement based mentoring customized to the practitioner’s individual level and needs. This journey of self-discovery will not only help you to deepen your practice but will also unfold an essential aspect of your innermost self.

About the Practice:
This retreat is offering you a wide range of playful elements, including important principles of Acrobatics (L-basing, Washing Machines, Whips, Pops & Flows), Functional Movement, Open Play, Contact Improvisation, Axis Syllabus, Martial Arts, Bodywork, Yin Yoga and much more. The heart of this week will be about cultivating trust, strength and flexibility, within ourselves and as a group.

Our Goal:
Doesn’t matter if you are a pro or have little to no experience in AcroYoga or Acrobatics. We will be teaching two levels simultaneously to make sure that everyone is getting their dose of matching input. Beginner/Intermediate participants will learn a solid, holistic foundation in AcroYoga & Partner Acrobatics. Intermediate/Advanced participants will be focusing on L-basing Tempos (whips, pops & dynamic entries/exits, as well the art of hand2hand and handbalancing).

Your Holiday Package:
Alongside the intensive practice (its up to you how many classes you’re going to join), you will find many opportunities to spend your time outdoors. Refresh yourself plashing in one of the two pools, explore the surrounding nature, take an afternoon stroll to the beach or a quick ride into town, which could be Rovinj or Pula (two of the most beautiful towns in all of Croatia).

Daily routine:
Following a playful warm-up of functional movement & yoga, we will work on building up a substantial skill set in acrobatics. In this time of the day each one of you will find their own level and achievements. The integration and focus on inversions, handstands and L-basing flows will be an essential foundation to start with. In the afternoon we dedicate our time to the playful side of moving. There will be optional classes, contact improvisation and personal movement coaching waiting for you. Take this time as an opportunity to work on specific tricks and refine them with your barefootyoga teachers. After a full day of moving & exploring we will round the day up with a feasty dinner and a connective bodywork practice or yin yoga.

Your AcroVenture Team 2019:

Millette Nunez

In 2011, Mimi was working as a Spanish teacher by day and as a yoga and Zumba® instructor by night. During this time, she was introduced to Acro and her life and body were turned upside down. While she was always passionate about teaching, she realized that her real inspiration came from learning and teaching movement. A year later, she quit her job as a school teacher to travel and share Acro with everyone on her path.
Ishine Gape

Originally from Austria, Gape loves to spend his time traveling, eating yummi food and taking photos. With a heart full of humor and well sized arms to hug almost everything, he is facilitating a wide variety of workshop worldwide. Gape is well known for his unique and precise way of teaching. His passion for bodywork gives him the oppertunity to embrace his students and encourage them to find freedom through movement and touch. Gape (founder of & ishine photography), is an Acrobatics & Yoga instructor, as well Massage Therapist with over 10 years of experience. He will be hosting this retreat and share his passion towards acro & movement.

David Worrow

The knowledge and experience I have acquired in the different disciplines I practice (be it visual arts, movement arts, massage therapies, languages…) relate in strange ways and nourish one another. Eventually I found the common thread of all these: education; transmitting what I know to others, which ties all of them together. My objective is to merge the rigorous and efficient Cambridge language teaching methods with the fun and communicative Acro teaching techniques, and add a creative edge from my arts education. Out of all of these, Acro has been by far the one which has most taught me about myself and others. It is a huge pleasure to teach this awesome, fun discipline, and to keep learning so much from my peers and students, no matter what age, background, or capacities they have.

Ulli Wittemann

A passion for movement and growth has drawn Ulli to new directions since he was a child. From practising Ballroom Dance and Hip Hop as a teenager and many years of studying different Martial Arts forms (Judo, Aikido, Kickboxing, Boxing and nowadays Muay Thai) he finally fell in love with Contact Improvisation in 2001 during his actors studies at the University of Performing Arts in Frankfurt, Germany. After eight years of performing more than 1000 shows in the German State Theater system he decided to change his focus from performing to sharing his love for Contact Improvisation, Acting, Awareness and Communication in Munich and abroad. In the last years he taught Workshops, Classes and Retreats inChina, Japan, India, Thailand, Israel, Palestine, USA, Canada, Turkey and many European Countries.

Yuval Miodovsky

Yuvi was born and raised in Israel where she dedicated her life to movement and found herself practicing for 16 years in Krav Maga. Krav Maga is an Israeli method of self-defense recognized world wide. After her black belt and 2 years of instructing in Krav Maga and combat fitness, she decided to travel in Asia. During her time in Asia, she joined the acro yoga practice and started to find every opportunity to fly, base and play. She found that through Acro Yoga she could express a deeper bond between the body, mind and breath for herself and her partner. The feeling of harmony, connection, fear, trust, freedom and vulnerability is what drew her to the practice. Since then every opportunity to share and practice with as many people as possible has brought Yuvi joy & light.

Martin Gebhardt

Martin has an inherit fascination for how the body and mind continuum works. Paired with a limitless curiosity he studies, teaches and discovers new ways of working with the body & mind. He is passionate about giving and creating, and found his creative outlet in teaching various forms of movement based classes (breakdance, yoga, somatics, functional exercise, acrobatics, contact improv and qi gong). Martin has qualifications in sport science, yoga, massage and holistic movement therapy. He has been teaching and practicing both in Germany and abroad for the past six years. Martin is a fun and professional teacher who creates a safe space for you to explore your body and mind.

Wotan Alvaro Sun

Founder of the blossoming Heart Culture Festival, experienced musician on stage and father of two beautiful children, obviously loves what he does. Using sound healing, Wotan guides people at workshops, retreats, single session`s and circle gatherings world wide to truly connect with their souls and fellows.
